And just like that, Christmas has come and gone. The decorations are packed away and now it’s time to give the house a fresh restart. Between hosting guests and acquiring more stuff, the holiday season can leave our homes in disarray and us feeling a bit chaotic. It’s in this moment I find myself inspired. There’s nothing I enjoy more than a good playlist and a new candle to really kick myself into high gear.
Oh, I’m skipping the new candle and going for a simple (and fun) stovetop potpourri — all the ingredients you need for this are right in your kitchen.
Ingredients
- 2 lemons, sliced
- rosemary bunch
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
Kitchen Tools
- saute pan
- cutting board
- knife
Directions
- On the stovetop, place the sliced lemons (alternatively, you could use the lemon peel or rind), rosemary bunch, and vanilla extract in the saute pan with a few cups of water.
- Turn the heat to low, and allow pot to simmer for a few hours. Add more water as needed.
Note: The ingredients can be used for a couple of days. Try creating your own unique blend with fruits, spices, or herbs you have around.
